Student Attendance

Student Attendance

Please call the school before 9:30 am if your child will be absent.  An automated call will go out after 10:00 am if your child is absent and you have not called.

A written note or doctor's excuse is required when your child is absent (even if you call) to excuse the absence.

A parent note can be used to excuse six (6) absences per school year.  After six, a doctor's or medical professional's note is required to excuse an absence.

Students are considered truant after they have three (3) unexcused absences or tardies.  Students who have nine (9) or more unexcused absences will be referred to our DPP.

A tardy is when a child is absent for less than 35% of the school; that can be coming to school late in the morning or checking out of school early in the afternoon.

If your child will not be at school for reasons other than sickness, please ask about filling out an Enhanced Educational Opportunity form to have the absences excused.
