Mission

The mission of Kentucky's Family Resource and Youth Service Centers is to provide support and resources to families while enhancing students' ability to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

  • Early learning and successful transition to school

  • Academic achievement and well-being

  • Graduation and transition into adult life

Services Provided

     If you need assistance with any of the areas below please contact us: 

  • Referral for assistance with full-time child care for children up to 3 years old

  • Referrals for assistance with after-school child care for children ages 4-12

  • Health education services for new and expectant parents

  • Education to enhance parenting skills and education for preschool parents and their children

  • Health services or health services referrals

  • Assistance with KCHIP referrals

  • Resource library of parenting books and materials

  • Referrals for assistance with basic needs

  • In-school mentoring assistance

Cradle School

Cradle School is a parent/child program in which families are supported by Parents As Teachers (PAT) certified staff.  The mission of the Cradle School program is to provide support and encouragement to parents during the crucial, early years of their children’s lives, from pre-natal to preschool age.  Early brain research shows that 0-3 years of age are critical years for learning and development. 

  • To educate parents on the developmental stages of children pre-natal to preschool age by offering hands-on activities

  • To empower parents to become engaged in their child’s early education to promote school readiness

  • To teach parents techniques to manage their child’s behavior and understand and recognize age appropriate child development preventing abuse and neglect

  • To make parents aware of additional community resources and agencies that support families

Cradle School is held each Friday, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church, 1570 N Danville Bypass. 

 

Relatives as Parents

Relatives As Parents (RAP) is a program designed to assist family members who are raising children other than their own.  The goals of RAP are to provide families with the following services:

  • Support offering a social network for grandparents/relatives raising children under 18

  • Referrals and access to appropriate community-based services and resources

  • Opportunities to learn and provide support to and from families in similar situations

  • Tips for coping with changing family dynamics

  • An understanding of effective ways to negotiate with outside services
